A SIL 4 platform you do not have to invent.

GeminiX is an embedded virtual platform for safety-critical systems at the highest integrity level: base software and hardware design components that are independent of the final platform hardware. GRIO extends the same discipline to the field interface.

THE PROBLEM

Three limitations. One answer.

The concept document names them without euphemism: fast obsolescence of electronic components, high realisation cost, and long realisation time for a new safety-critical system.

01

Obsolescence

The CPU ages faster than the asset. A platform that is independent of the specific hardware survives the component it started on.

02

Cost

Taking a computing platform through SIL 4 is a programme in itself. It should be done once, and reused.

03

Diagnostic coverage

Above 99% is not reached by comparison alone. It needs measures implemented in FPGA, which are verifiable, reusable and hardware-independent.

Let’s engineer the next generation of mobility.
